President Joe Biden is warning airlines and other companies not to overcharge people who trying to get out of the path of Hurricane Milton.

A few airports in Florida began to close and cancel hundreds of flights due to the path of the hurricane. Officials from the White House warned airlines not to surge the rates of flights due to the high demand.

Some airlines defended their actions, saying they had imposed fare caps in the last couple days. By the afternoon on Tuesday, more than 700 United States flights were canceled. Half of that number came from the Tampa International Airport. The airport has shut down this morning. The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport closed last night (Oct 8th) after its last flight departed.

Biden did not give an example of price gouging this week. The government stated that they have been in touch with airlines to get more information about the availability and affordability of flights in the storms path.
