Meet our Furry Friday Friends of the Week!

Piper is a 1 1/2 year old Yorkie that was found tied to a park bench at 4 months old.  She was wearing a diaper at the time.  She went to a high kill shelter who asked for a rescue to take her.  She most likely was born with a spinal defect which causes her to have no control over peeing and  pooping.  At her foster home she wears a diaper while in the house. She is a love bug that just wants to be held.  She will play hard with the younger dogs and cuddles with the oder dogs.  She is fearless around other dogs.  She does have issues where she drags her back feet due to her spine.  We have worked hard at strengthening her back legs. She has a K-9 cart which we very rarely use.  She gets along and even tries to run.  She loves car rides. She especially loves children as long as they are gentle with her.  Piper is the sweetest girl.

Lucky is about five years old.  He is a Chihuahua mix and the happiest boy with the best tail wag.  He and several other dogs were abandoned in a house before Animal Control went in to rescue them. The house was filled with urine and feces and the dogs were eating holes in the walls.  Lucky was named Lucky because he was able to be rescued by our group.  Lucky has some kind of neurological disorder that causes him to have tremors.  He has an awkward gait but gets where he needs to go in his own way.  He loves to eat and play.  He loves to play with other dogs but also loves to lay on a soft bed and chew on bones.
