Kim Kardashian’s Robbery Suspect Dies Days Before of Trial

A suspect in the 2016 armed robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris has died just days before standing trial. Marceau Baum-Gertner, also known as “Rough Nose,” reportedly received threats from gang members prior to his death. He was a well-known figure in the Paris criminal underworld with a lengthy history of convictions.
Baum-Gertner was one of ten defendants scheduled to appear in court for the high-profile case, in which Kardashian is expected to testify. The robbery took place during Paris Fashion Week in 2016, when masked assailants stole approximately $10 million worth of jewelry from the American celebrity while her bodyguard was away.
The accused are mostly older men in their 60s and 70s with extensive criminal backgrounds. Investigators believe they targeted Kardashian based on knowledge of her travel and security plans.
Despite intense media interest, defense attorneys are urging for calm and focused legal proceedings. The trial is expected to run through May 23.
